Welcome to the Penn Political Union, the center for political deliberation and action at the University of Pennsylvania. A branch of the University of Pennsylvania Government and Politics Association, the Penn Political Union promotes both inter-party and intra-party parliamentary debate and other diverse opportunities for all students to participate in the political process.
Through caucuses, membership units based on varying ideologies, members can engage with like-minded individuals in a political community of their own and pursue common goals. The caucuses convene monthly for formal parliamentary sessions in which a resolution addressing an important issue is debated by the entire membership of the Union. The Union is the community for any Penn student considering a future in public service, government, policy, leadership in general, or just interested in learning more about civic and political affairs.
To become a formal voting member of the Union (and of a caucus), you must attend and vote in at least two Union sessions, and inform the caucus chair of your choice of your preference.
